My Summer 2024 Playlist

Since summer is in full swing, I saw it fit to share with you my current rotation of songs getting me through. Even though this summer has been packed with work, job hunting, and the uncertainty of life itself post-grad, I’ve managed to pull together this list of songs that make me forget about all that for a few minutes!

  1. Lilacs by Waxahatchee: a perfect summer song. chill, comforting, all around perfect track on an incredible and UNDERRATED album.
  2. Close to You by Gracie Abrams: while I regularly listen to a few songs on The Secret Of Us, this one gives me the most summer-fun-party vibes.
  3. But Daddy I Love Him by Taylor Swift - while most of the songs on TTPD give me existential dread, this one actually encapsulates running through a field with your dress unbuttoned perfectly.
  4. Don’t Forget Me by Maggie Rogers - this woman has never made a bad song in my eyes. What I would give to see her live. This song makes me feel too deeply about my college friends.
  5. 360 by Charli XCX - ummmmmm yeah so whats this I’m hearing about a brat summer? Yes.
  6. Levi’s Jeans by Beyonce ft. Post Malone - Definitely my most played from Cowboy Carter this summer. @ Taylor Swift, this is how you do a collaboration!!!! Take notes xoxo love ya still
  7. Illusion by Dua Lipa - I will never ever ever get over this song. Club classic for sure. I speed to this song so bad and I actually did get pulled over once.
  8. The Long Way Around by The Chicks - This song gives me a sliver of hope that maybe I will work things out post-grad. The Chick will always tug at my heartstrings.
  9. Now I’m In It by HAIM - My favorite HAIM song and it’s so perfect for summer. Super bouncy, catchy, and I love the layering on the last chorus.
  10. Run Away With Me by Carly Rae Jepsen - This will be on every summer playlist until I perish. Makes me want to run through the city and scream.
  11. Obvious by Ariana Grande - I don’t know why I ignored Positions when it came out but I was dead wrong for that. This song is so fun and flirty and I can’t stop listening to it.

xx
