Yee Haw - Unleash Your Inner Cowgirl with this Springtime Playlist

Fresh air, blue skies, and warmer days ahead; spring is a promise of rejuvenation and always makes me feel nostalgic for simpler times. Something about the days getting longer and the breeze getting hotter reminds me of being a child and driving with the windows down, not a care in the world except what my dad was making for dinner. 

This season calls for music that brings those same emotions on; chill, free, reflective, and heartfelt. Those things can be combined to create one of my very favorite genres: cowgirl country. Is this a genre I’ve made up in my head? For sure, but I think many can relate. Blending influences of bluegrass, pop, indie, rock, and classic country, I’ve created this playlist to encapsulate a very specific mood: 

Driving down a backroad with your best friends, windows down, hair blowing, warm breeze. 

A quiet beach, sitting in the sun, reading quietly and listening to the waves crash. 

A backyard picnic, good company, sweet fruits and wine. 

Running through a field of grass barefoot, the smells of spring filling your senses. 

Sitting in your favorite chair in front of an open window, journaling about all the things you miss from home.
